Can lifestyle cause yeast infection

It is just an overgrowth of the yeast, Candida. Candida lives in tiny numbers and is always present in women's bodies. Generally yeast is kept in check by helpful bacteria that are obviously present. Sometimes the average balance of the vagina is disturbed. When that happens, Candida can increase, resulting in a vaginal yeast infection. Almost 3 out of every 4 women have a run-in with at least one Candida yeast infection in their lives. The good news is that a vaginal yeast infection is infrequently serious. It is easily curable with an effective over-the-counter treatment.

Lifestyle and other causes:

Mostly, when the balance of helpful bacteria in the vagina is upset, it can lead to a growth of Candida and make a vaginal yeast infection. There are other causes, however, that may make one more susceptible. These include

1. Lifestyle - the lifestyle can make a difference, too. If someone wears tight jeans or synthetic underwear or stay in a wet swimsuit, then one may be creating the kind of warm moist environment where Candida thrives.

2. Antibiotics - Certain Antibiotics can change the environment of the vagina, sometimes creating conditions for yeast overgrowth. If one takes oral antibiotics or are on a regular course of antibiotic therapy, a yeast infection can result.

3. Diabetes - Yeast infections are also widespread in certain people with diabetes. When the blood sugar is high, not only is more sugar obtainable in body tissue and secretions for food but the effectiveness of the body's obviously occurring defense is decreased. So, the yeast can increase rapidly and overgrow, causing a yeast infection.

4. Hormonal changes - Pregnancy, menstruation or use of high-estrogen content oral contraceptives can too alter the pH of the vagina and increase glucose levels so Candida can grow.

How to change lifestyle:

Wear loose cotton cloths. Keep the genital area dry to avoid yeast infection. Drinking lots of water per day and eating a balanced diet can reduce the yeast infection to certain limit. Other reasons for vaginal yeast infection are stress and illness that can wreak havoc on the immune system. While yeast organisms thrive on moisture and heat, tight fitting clothes are also common causes of vaginal yeast infection. Via scented sanitary products and nylon undergarments are other common causes for yeast infection amongst women.
