Waking up after a long night booze party can be very sickening with the sleepiness and severe headache. These are the symptoms of hangover. A hangover basically is an unpleasant psychological disturbance that occurs in the body due to after effects of the excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages. The most common features of a hangover are headache, nausea, lethargy, excessive thirst and sensitivity to light and sound. This can be troublesome if a person has an excessive hangover and regular hangovers. Other symptom includes diarrhea, weakness, hypersensitivity and difficulty in concentration. After hangover, it is common that many people will get repulsive thoughts or the taste of alcohol during hangover. The symptoms vary from person to person and can last for several hours. Hence, it becomes imperative for a person to be able to successfully deal with hangovers.

1. The most common misconception of hangover is to take another drink of hangover but in this case the hangover worsens and this may lead to severe headache and dizziness.
2. Taking a lot of water to recover the water loss in the body as alcohol is diuretic. When the water level of the body is neutralized the brain sends proper electrical impulses and this may reduce some of the headache.
3. Taking a cup of coffee after the hangover can be beneficial in curbing it as it reduces the swollen blood vessels which are also a cause of hangover.
4. Taking a soup rich in salts and potassium will help to curb the uneasiness that is caused after the hangover.
5. By taking a fruit juice the alcohol that the body metabolizes and due to this some extent of the hangovers is reduced.
6. Eating crackers or muffins with honey will be helpful in breaking down the alcohol and the metabolism of the body is also increased.
