When you have diabetes, you have to worry about so many things. There are problems that you can have with your body and your skin if you are not managing the diabetes in the right way. There are complications that are going to be deadly if you are not controlling the situation. If someone has diabetes, the person may have to make the right decisions to keep it under control and to keep a happy and healthy lifestyle.
If a person is in control of their diabetes and their blood sugar, they are going to be less likely to have complications. Insulin or other medications may have to be applied to those that have diabetes and need to keep it regulated. Some people need to only take a special pill once a day and others may have to take injections all the time to keep their diabetes concealed.
Even with the best possible control of the disease may not be able to eliminate all of the complications that are possible. The risk will increase over time and the longer that the person has diabetes. Diabetes complications can affect the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and large and small blood vessels.
There are big and small problems or complications that can happen with a person that is living with diabetes. There are many things that have to be controlled and it is important take care of all the problems that are caused by diabetes. You need to speak to your doctor regularly so that you are monitoring what needs to be done and how your progress is coming along.
Losing your eyesight is one possibility. Many have to take on the challenges of cataract when they have diabetes. Sometime it is also necessary for them to have thicker or stronger glasses because they are having a hard time seeing. Having ulcers on the legs and feet will also occur in people with diabetes due to the combination and other problems that happen. You have to have special care to your feet when you are diagnosed with diabetes. You do not want to risk any type of infection because of a cut or abrasion on your foot.
People live with diabetes will also notice an increase in cavities and other infections when they do not take the right precautions and control their diabetes. To prevent the teeth from decaying, brush your teeth all the time and floss daily. There are even special toothpastes and mouthwashes for diabetes that are safe for the disease and will give special care to the patients.
