Diabetes in children




Type 1 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes in children today. More and more children are being diagnosed with it. Usually children under the age of 16 are being revealed with the disease and it is important to make sure that all children are being checked before it is too late. Diabetes is caused by the lack of ability in the pancreas to produce insulin in the body.

Type one diabetes in children is known as an autoimmune disease and the meaning is when a body's immune system will attack one of the body's own tissues or organs. Having a child with diabetes is something that is difficult and it is going to be something that needs to be taken care of all the time. However there is no reason to be discouraged because there are plenty of different things out there today that are helping kids live happier and healthier lifestyles with the problems of diabetes.

Being over weight is something that can cause diabetes in many children. There are also other problems like family history, genetics and eating habits. It is so important to have your child seen by a doctor all the time so that they can have the treatment that they need when they need it. Make sure that you are also helping your child eat right and exercise in the best way. Keep your child active and help them find good ways to eat right. Make sure that they know how important it is to eat well and be active.

The main symptoms of diabetes in children are the following:
* Thirst
* Weight loss
* Being tired all the time
* Always going to the bathroom
* Stomach ache
* Headache
* Having behavioral problems

If you think that your child may be having a problem, you need to make sure that you are getting them in to be seen by a doctor right away. You need to be sure that your child is safe and out of harm's way. Make sure that you are doing your part by protecting them from all the bad things that are out there. Make good food and encourage them to exercise more. You will feel good knowing that you are giving your children the good sense that they need to be healthier and safe from diabetes.
