Acid reflux is caused by the backing of the food and acid from the stomach to the esophagus. This causes burning sensation in the esophagus and the chest area as the walls of the esophagus are less prone to handle the acidity unlike the stomach. Acid reflux in adults is caused mainly due to eating wrong kind of foods, which aggravate the burning sensations in the chest. A well-planned diet can be helpful to avoid acid reflux problems. More the less, it is the first step towards addressing the problems related to acid reflux.
