Smoking and diabetes

Smoking, as you know, is not something that people do to be healthy. You will find that it can raise your blood pressure and that is not good for someone who has diabetes. You will find that smoking isn't good for anyone no matter how young or old, but you will want to talk to your doctor on how your smoking will affect your life.

Did you know that every cigarette that you smoke you is taking hours off your life? An hour a pack could be days off of your life, however, who smokes just one pack? Each pack will add up to be years and the next thing that you know you are taking a stroke or heart attack because your blood pressure is too high. You will want to talk to your doctor about the medications that you are taking and how they interact with the smoking. There are a lot of medications that you absolutely can not smoke with. You will want to make sure that you learn how to control your diabetes and beat the smoking.

Smoking is hard to quit, especially, when your doctor is telling you. There is just something inside of you that feels the need to beat the system; however, you can't fight your doctor. Your doctor is just trying to ensure you that you'll make a healthy life and future for you and your family. Not only does the smoking raise your blood pressure, but it will also make you breathe harder.

The harder breathing will affect your heart and that is why a lot of people will take a stroke or heart attack (the body has to work harder just to maintain). You will need to think about what is best for you and how you can use diabetes to help you quit. If you were to realize that you are slowly dying, you may just want to quit some bad habits. You will also find that diabetes and drinking doesn't mix. It's hard to change your set ways, but you have to for the sake of the children and the future.

If you would really like to quit smoking, you will want to contact your doctor and ask them how you can get the help needed to do so. There are a lot of medications that can not handle the patch and you may have to learn to slow down in the amount of smoking that you do and slowly quit. It's hard to just through away the smokes and say "I quit". No one can quit smoking like that, especially, if they smoked heavily. You will want to think about how determine you are to save your own life. Keep in mind that your doctor is willing to help you out.
